Ole Miss football was clearly focused on recruiting for defense and National Signing Day saw the addition of a great JUCO defensive tackle.

It was somewhat surprising to see Ole Miss football coach Matt Luke so focused on the defensive side of the ball. Although having played offensive lineman and coached the offensive line its easy to see why Luke can appreciate good defense. Of course, the 2018 Ole Miss football recruiting class shows Matt Luke wants to improve the Ole Miss defense with the best. Enter Noah Jefferson.

Last Wednesday coach Matt Luke and the Ole Miss football program received a letter of intent from Noah Jefferson. Jefferson is rated a 4-star JUCO defensive tackle out of Arizona Western College and he is a beast. Naturally, Jefferson is also another gem for the 2018 recruiting class at the defensive tackle position.

Rated a 4-star by Rivals, Noah Jefferson is a 6’6″ 320 lb defensive tackle originally out of Liberty High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Via the JUCO route thru Arizona Western Jefferson found his way to Oxford. Noah Jefferson is a legit DT with a lot of power, strength and quickness.

Jefferson has established himself as the No.8 JUCO defensive tackle in the nation and was highly recruited. Noah was being sought after by a number of schools which included Arizona, Florida and Arkansas.

Jefferson is a solid defensive tackle who plays hard and fast on every play and doesn’t take plays off. Of course, he definitely has the size and speed  to be a significant game changer for Ole Miss at the defensive tackle position and should make an immediate impact in the depth chart for coach Freddie Roach and the defensive line.

Jefferson Is A Huge Get

Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke and his staff dedicated the 2018 recruiting class to bringing back the defense. As much as the Ole Miss defense has suffered over the past two seasons we have needed to rebuild. Luke and defensive coordinator Wesley McGriff have done exactly that. As huge as Jefferson is you have to know he will be a key piece in the rebuilding puzzle. Yes Jefferson really is just that good. Of course, this was a huge signee for a Ole Miss defense who had already signed five defensive tackles in this class.

Of course, there is no doubt in the addition of Noah Jefferson to the defensive line at Ole Miss. Also, there is no doubt Jefferson will be great at Ole Miss. We know for a fact he has to be good if he wound up in this Ole Miss recruiting class. OHT wants to officially welcome Noah Jefferson to the Ole Miss family and good luck going ahead! Hotty Toddy!
