Ole Miss Football: Greg Little Receives Second Watch List Selection

As fall camp heats up for Ole Miss football in preparation of the season opener the preseason watch list selections continue to come in for some Rebels.

The 2018 Ole Miss football season will kick off in Houston, Texas against Texas Tech and the Rebels have been busy getting ready. The Rebels are now 2 weeks into fall camp and the excitement for the upcoming season is building among both players and the fans. As with any college football season the preseason accolades and watch list selections have been coming in for the Rebels.

Tuesday more selections came for a pair of Rebels. Senior Ole Miss quarterback Jordan Ta’amu and junior offensive tackle Greg Little were both named as selections for national watch lists. Ta’amu was selected to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List and Little was named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List. The selections are the second for both Ta’amu and Little and more are expected.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose award is presented annually to the top Division I college football play who best exemplifies the characteristics which define Earl Campbell. According to OleMissSports, the player must exhibit integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.

Out of Allen, Texas Greg Little has been clutch on the offensive line for the Rebels playing left tackle. Little has appeared in every game since becoming a Rebel and has started At 6’6 and 325 lbs Little is a huge part of the Rebels offensive success over the past two seasons.

As a freshman in 2016 Little made five starts for the Rebels and garnered Freshman All-American and Freshman First Team All-SEC honors for exceptional ability on the offensive line. In 2017 Little made all 12 starts at left tackle and was named Second Team All-SEC.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award id the second for Little who has also been selected to the Outland Trophy watch list. The Outland Trophy goes to the top offensive lineman in the country and Little is definitely one of the best. Little has already been selected as a Preseason All-American by the media.
