The Southeastern Conference released the SEC schedules for the 2018-19 season and Ole Miss basketball now has their entire regular season schedule.
Friday the Southeastern Conference offices released the SEC schedule for the 2018-19 Ole Miss basketball season. It may have just been the release of the 2018-19 SEC basketball schedule to some basketball fans but for Ole Miss basketball fans it was just one more step closer to the true beginning of the coach Kermit Davis era of the Ole Miss program. After the 2017-18 season we all need something a little better to look forward to.
Friday also allowed coach Kermit Davis to see their complete 2018-19 season schedule and to size up the Rebels competition. After ending the 2018-19 seasons non-conference portion of the schedule the Rebels will begin SEC play Jan 5, 2019. As we all know the SEC has become a very strong basketball conference and it is a very tough league to win in on a consistent basis. Looking at the Rebels SEC schedule presents some tough matchups.

Looking Ahead?
Right now we can look at the schedule and only dare to make predictions. However this Ole Miss basketball team is much better now at this point than they were just a short year ago. After a tumultuous 2017-18 season we are optimistic, even though cautiously, about the upcoming season for Rebels hoops. Coach Kermit Davis has done a terrific job of gathering together the returning starters from last season and adding new very talented players with an outstanding job of recruiting.
While Ole Miss basketball may indeed face some ‘growing pains’ in the 2018-19 season the future may be bright sooner than later. Of course, we have to wait and see but the Rebels recently returned from a Canada Tour where they finished 3-1 against four very good Canadian basketball programs. Hopefully the wins will carry over to the regular season which begins in Oxford Nov 10, 2018 as the Rebels host Western Michigan. Hotty Toddy!
