When you look at the Tide on offense you can’t help but immediately be drawn to the talent the Tide has. Of course at QB there is Tua Tagovailoa who has emerged as the starter for Nick Saban. This season Tagovailoa has completed 25 of 35 attempts for 455 yards and 2 TDs while throwing no interceptions. Tau is also dangerous with his legs and has 9 carries for 59 yards and 1 TD on the ground.
Bama always has great skill players on offense and the WR group is no exception. The Crimson Tide’s leading receiver is sophomore DeVonta Smith who has 7 receptions for 176 yards and 1 TD. Smith is followed by sophomore Jerry Jeudy who has 8 receptions for 151 yards and 4 TDs. Henry Ruggs III who is also a sophomore has 5 receptions for 71 yards and 1 TD. They are young but very good.
Of course, you can’t say Bama football without knowing there are more than a few good RBs in the Tide stable. The Tide has found success so far this season on the ground behind sophomore Najee Harris, senior Damien Harris and junior Josh Jacobs. Najee Harris has 21 carries for 165 yards and 2 TDs while Damien Harris has 19 carries for 116 yards. Jacobs has 11 carries for 59 yards and 1 TD. Tagovailoa has scored the Tide’s only other rushing TD so far this season.
Saban is a great strategist and will try to exploit the weaknesses of the Rebels defense. Before this past Saturday I would have bet the farm we would see a heavy dose of the Bama run game. Now i believe Saban will try to do that and hurt the Rebels defense with the short pass. Saban saw what SIU did and will try to do the same thing and it will be up to the Rebels defense to step up and make stops. The Rebels have to get off the field on third down and if they can’t stop Tua then it will be a long day.
