No.7 South Carolina Gamecocks (1-1, 0-1)

More from Ole Miss Football

The South Carolina (1-1, 0-1) and Marshall (2-0) game was cancelled as a result of hurricane Florence which ravaged the area. Thru their two games Will Muschamp and the Gamecocks have put up 893 yards of total offense with 576 yards coming thru the air and 317 yards coming on the ground.

The Gamecocks defense has given up 711 yards allowing 314 thru the air and 397 yards on the ground. South Carolina will be back in action this Saturday as they travel to take on Vanderbilt (2-1). At this point the Gamecocks are one those teams we have to see more from. South Carolina will be back in action this Saturday as they travel to take on Vanderbilt (2-1).

No.6 Tennessee Vols (2-1, 0-0)

The Tennessee Vols (2-1, 0-0) entered week-three with a 1-1 record and a matchup with UTEP (0-3) in Knoxville which resulted in a 24-0 Vols win. While the Vols held the Miners scoreless thru the game there are still quite a few questions surrounding the Tennessee offense. It was expected Tennessee would have a good defense and besides the season opener against West Virginia it has vastly improved from 2017.

The Vols looked good on both sides of the ball against the Miners putting up 512 yards of total offense with 345 yards coming on the ground and 167 yards thru the air. The Vols defense looked very good allowing just 134 yards of Miners offense. Tennessee has the talent and now the head coach to bring winning back to Knoxville. It’s just too early to tell how soon that may happen against SEC opponents. Tennessee will host Florida (2-1, 0-1) this Saturday.

No.5 Florida Gators (2-1, 0-1)

The Florida Gators (2-1, 0-1) entered week-three coming off a huge loss to Kentucky and were facing Colorado State (1-3) in Gainesville. Florida looked somewhat impressive over CSU in the 48-10 win. Thru 3 games coach Dan Mullen and the Gators offense have put up 1.147 yards of total offense with 592 yards coming thru the air and 555 yards on the ground.

The Florida defense has been somewhat surprising only allowing 43 points thru three games despite allowing 989 yards. The Gators have a relatively good pass defense which has given up just 394 yards while the defense has allowed 595 yards on the ground. Florida is a hard team to peg at this point in the season but this weekend should shed better light on how good the Gators may be. The Gators travel to Knoxville to take on Tennessee (2-1, 0-0).
