After last weekends Bama beatdown there have been a number of Ole Miss football fans who completely lost it and its only week-four.

First and foremost we should take into consideration it’s not easy being a Ole Miss football fan and in fact the disappointments have been way too numerous to list. Trust me, I’ve had my own meltdown moments and fortunately have lived thru them. Oh I was there for some really ‘call them seasons’ bad seasons in my time as a Rebels fan. From the standpoint of a Rebels fan I am surprised I made it thru some of those seasons. They were indeed rough.

Right now the Ole Miss Rebels are 2-1 which is exactly what OHT predicted we would be at this point in the season. It is really no big surprise. We knew what was coming in week-three and we had a whole year to plan for it. Some of y’all have not only lost all hope but some have lost all sense of reason and gone full meltdown mode. Some of you have gone absolutely crazy and trust me, by Skip standards it is really pretty bad.

It Actually Started Early

More from Ole Miss Football

So last Sunday I awoke to the early morning chirps of the TSBU rivals. Oh while I’m a frequent visitor among the smack pages and honestly probably don’t get my fair share of grief, there were a few Patch Tech fans who decided to smack at me on my personal page instead of realizing they were in a smack group.

Skidiots. Yes your team may be 3-0 and headed for natty and yet we aren’t worried because y’all have clearly never been there and won’t be again. You should have already known your place. Enjoy Cousin Eddie 2.0. Your time with No.1 Bama is coming but luckily y’all have an elite QB.

Don’t think y’all are getting off easy Rebels, while we may not be as stupid as Patch Tech it didn’t take long for some of us to start chirping. This week has been a flood of discontent among the Ole Miss faithful.

Yes Bama beat our butt. Was it expected? Sadly, by many fans it was and we didn’t just get beat, we got shellacked for the second time in two seasons. Since then we have heard everything from the defensive coordinator problem we have to firing Matt Luke and cleaning house. Jesus Rebels, we’ve only played three games.

It May Get Worse

Needless to say some of us aren’t happy as Rebels fans. So far this season as Rebels fans we’ve been graced with a 2-1 season and all that goes with it. Of course, with good there is also bad and we saw it this past weekend. Sure, we’ve all been in Oxford for the last two games and also the backlash from unhappy Ole Miss fans on social media.

While we should set our expectations higher as Rebels fans we should also take into account exactly what we are up against. Ole Miss football is now in a rebuilding stage of sorts and some of us expect Luke to wave a magic wand and win every game. Not only is it not that simple but it is also very unrealistic. Seldom does a football program go through what we have and make a turnaround overnight.

This Ole Miss team is very talented and could indeed have a great season. However, it is very likely there will be some more losses and a few may get ugly. There are nine games left in the 2018 season and we should only hope Matt Luke and the Rebels show up and be competitive. Do we want wins? Of course we do but we after just three weeks some fans have already settled for a bad season. We have to have higher expectations but we also have to hang in there.

Next. Season Predictions!. dark

Keep your tickets, go to the games and hope the Rebels get better. More than anything else don’t give up on this team or this season. Will it get better? Yes, but it won’t happen over night. Good luck to coach Matt Luke and the Rebels as they face Kent State today. Hotty Toddy!
