As Ole Miss football heads to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers there have been more accolades coming for some Rebels players.

Earlier this week Ole Miss football senior center Sean Rawlings was recognized by the National Football Foundation as a semifinalist for the William V Campbell Trophy. The trophy recognizes the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation. Rawlings is one of 179 players named as semifinalists for the annual award.

On October 31st the NFF will announce 12-14 finalists which will each be awarded a $18,000 post-graduate scholarship as part of the 60th NFF Scholar-Athlete Class. The finalists will then travel to New York December 4th for the 61st NFF Annual Awards Dinner where their accomplishments will be highlighted with one member being declared the winner of the Campbell Trophy.

The Campbell trophy semifinalists are nominated by their respective university which is limited to just one nominee. Each candidate must meet specific criteria for Campbell consideration. Each finalist must be a senior or graduate student who is in their final year of eligibility. They must have a minimum of 3.2 GPA on 4.0 scale and must possess outstanding football ability and strong leadership and citizenship.
