Ole Miss Football: Grove Grinder, Don’t turn in the train ticket just yet
Coach Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss football saw a bad loss as a result of a terrible offensive performance against the Hogs, but it’s not time to give up.
We are Ole Miss. The motto of Ole Miss football fans has rung true for many seasons in the past. It also ran true against Arkansas as we watched the Rebels offense fall apart. To say the loss to the Hogs was an ugly loss is an understatement and then we watched the SEC officials fall apart as the Rebels hosted Auburn. We have grown used to seeing tough losses The Rebels numbers through the first three games really didn’t matter. However, the Auburn game should have been a win for the Rebels and Lane Kiffin.
The numbers the high-powered Kiffin/Lebby offense put up in their fourth game of the season were enough to erase what the first three games showed. It was terrible. What is even worse is the fact we watched as a great quarterback had to endure what was the worst game of his career. The sad fact we have to accept is even the best of quarterbacks have a bad day. Corral had his bad day and it’s over now. Corral looked much better against Auburn but it was still another Rebels loss. So, what came next?

So, we all know Vandy is a pretty soft SEC team. Especially for an SEC team. But hey it is what it is. Saturday did the Rebels proved just how bad Vandy really is or did they show just how potent the Rebels offense really is?
Saturday the Rebels won their second Covid-SEC game 54-21 over Vandy. The win was important for Lane Kiffin and the Rebels who are far better than their record may display.
The Ole Miss offense not only put up huge numbers but also broke records that many Ole Miss football fans believed would never be broken. The Kiffin & Lebby offense is very adaptive to different defensive schemes.
All anyone has to do is watch what the Rebels are capable of and they can see this is an Ole Miss offense that can score at any time from anywhere on the field.
So, if you are a true Ole Miss football fan, you’re stopping in Oxford. This is a train ride. Get on board or get off. Lane Kiffin didn’t have to end up in Oxford. He was being sought in plenty of football towns but he decided to make Oxford the next stop.
While many Ole Miss football fans wanted to see the Lane Train pull into Rebel Nation there were a few who hated the idea. Lane Kiffin and his staff didn’t make us any promises in a 2020 college football season hampered by Covid-19. Instead, he took what was given to him and produced from it. The season isn’t over nor is the Lane Train. Don’t give up on him or the Rebels just yet. Hold on tight and don’t turn in that ticket just yet. Stay safe and Hotty Toddy!
