It was another day of Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss fans over the false promise of finalizing his future.
The point of contention seems Ole Miss not letting Kiffin coach in the College Football Playoff if he decides to leave.
With the decision, the Rebels might be signing a one-way ticket to a fragile Playoff run. After the riling wait that he put Ole Miss through in the past couple of months, though, their stubbornness to not bend to his wish only seems fair.
They don't need to, especially when they already have who they will be replacing Kiffin with in mind.
Joe Judge Lane Kiffin's possible replacement
According to ESPN, Joe Judge would most likely serve as Kiffin's replacement as the Rebels' intreim head coach in the Playoff.

Judge and DC Pete Golding are the two assistant coaches who have been in the mix to be Kiffin's replacements ever since the rumors of Kiffin leaving Oxford started getting real.
Judge, 43, spent eight years in New England with Belichick before getting the Giants’ head-coaching job in 2020. The later turned out to be a disaster as he finished his run with a 10-23 record.
After that, he returned to Belichick for a few years before finally coming to the Sip.
Judge landed in Oxford in 2024 to coach under Kiffin and became the QB coach this season.
Whether Judge makes the interim head coach depends entirely on whether the Rebels agree to Kiffin coaching the Playoff.
The highly-awaited official announcement will decide how things go for Kiffin and Judge from here.
