The Week 11 schedule in college football is the most important so far for many SEC teams. A loss for either team in the LSU-Alabama game will likely eliminate them from the playoff picture, as would a loss for Ole Miss against No. 3 ranked Georgia.
Ole Miss took a hammering when these teams met in Athens last season. However, the Rebels are a different beast in 2024, especially on defense. With its best performance, the team can hang with the Bulldogs, leading the nation in sacks and tackles for loss.
Once again, the Rebels are waiting on wide receiver Tre Harris's fitness. If he is fit to play, it will be a boost, but the offense has shown it can function without him, recording two big wins in the last two games.
The key battle for Ole Miss is whether their offensive line can hold up enough for Jaxson Dart and the run game. It can be imperfect, but penalties need to be few, and the pressure allowed needs to be less frequent. It would not be surprising to see Charlie Weis Jr. scheme up to get the ball out quickly for Dart.
When Lane Kiffin went into the transfer portal to strengthen the trenches, it was for games like these. It's time for these players to show the Rebels fans why they were recruited by the coaching staff.
