Rebels O-line Is Very Good

More from Ole Miss Football

This is really no big secret to most Ole Miss fans who have followed the Rebels closely. The Rebels offensive line is very experienced, with exception to red-shirt freshman Ben Brown, very talented and very big. The Ole Miss starting front five did an excellent job Saturday against a very tenacious Tech defense. They were effective in pass protection and blocked for a 200 yard rusher.

Rebels JUCO transfer running back Scottie Phillips found some huge holes to run thru the entire game and wound up with 16 carries for 2014 yards rushing. Many of Phillips runs and his 2 TDs came thru holes up the middle of the line. This is a good sign for Rebels fans who are wanting to see more production in the run game. However, the bread and butter of the Rebels offense is thru the air and you can’t ask for a better group to protect senior QB Jordan Ta’amu.
