Ole Miss Football: Five Things We Learned Against Southern Illinois
Freshmen Looked Good
Over the years Ole Miss has seen a quite few freshmen who have played well and found success as Rebels. This season we’ve seen a number of freshmen who have been called on and have stepped up. Saturday we got to see much more from freshman running backs Tylan Knight and Isaiah Woullard. Knight finished the day with 4 carries for 26 yards while Woullard finished with 7 carries for 23 yards and 1 TD. Both RBs are very talented play-makers and with extra touches will see big plays. Saturday we also watched as freshman WR Elijah Moore got his first TD as a Rebel and also saw freshman corner-back Keidron Smith get his first interception.
Thru the Rebels first two games we’ve also seen freshmen linebackers Kevontae’ Ruggs and Jacquez Jones get snaps and make some plays. Seeing the younger players playing early and making big plays is huge for this team as they get deeper in the season of course. However, it also speaks to the level of talent the 2018 Ole Miss recruiting class and shows great high school players around the country Ole Miss is where you can play if you have the talent. With the Rebels freshmen we’ve seen this season we have to believe they make a huge contribution this Saturday.
