Coach Matt Luke and Ole Miss football were back in action Saturday night as they had to face the No.5 LSU Tigers in Death Valley.

We all know there are never any easy nights playing in Death Valley and Saturday night was a rough night for Ole Miss football. The Rebels were coming into Baton Rouge off a 38-17 win over Kent State while LSU was coming off a 38-21 win over Louisiana Tech.

In front of a crowd of 100,224 Ole Miss struck first with a Luke Logan FG in the 1st quarter to take the 3-0 lead. The Rebels defense couldn’t find an answer to the LSU offense and trailed 14-3 headed into the 2nd quarter. LSU added two more scores to take the 28-3 lead but Luke Logan connected with another FG just before the half to cut the Tigers lead to 28-6.

The Rebels came out in the 2nd half and managed to get on the board again with a 1-yard TD run by Scottie Phillips. The Logan PAT made the game seem within reach at 28-13 Tigers but LSU wasn’t though with the offense and picked up a TD to make it 35-13 LSU. Luke Logan connected for a 45-yard FG in the 4th quarter to make the score 35-16 LSU. LSU added two more scores to make the score 45-16 and pick up the win over the Rebels.
